Question:

In order for us to report on shopper attribution and engagements in our platform, we use GA analytics default dimensions like landing pages, previous page path, exit pages, etc. However, Roadster leverages custom URLs in their reporting which is not compatible with our Turn Dashboard reporting and some of the data will not be 100% correct or will be missing some data points such as engagements.

Roadster's default VDP URL on the website is https://express.examplesite.com/express/used/1N6ED0CE1MN700505?deal_type=cash&delivery=1 as an example, but GA will report /R-online/vdp-used because of custom pageview tracking by Roadster.

Is it possible for Roadster to report default URLs from a website instead of /R-online/ custom URLs in GA? Default URLs from websites will provide much more capability to get data from GA than custom URLs?

Answer:

Unfortunately we cannot change the way we report pages on the express store. We specifically use this format for a number of reasons, and all of our internal and Admin reporting is built using this structure - any changes to this would break everything we currently have built and shared with our partners.

If you are using GTM, you have access to a number of custom dimensions, one being the hit url - you can set this as a dimension in reporting to see the actual url a customer sees. Additionally, if the Roadster configurations do not work for you, you have the ability to augment this as you see fit in GTM as well > just know that any changes to our pre-configured tracking setup introduces potential tracking errors and inconsistency.
